Liquid Manufacturing PlantsHigh-shear emulsification from below — stable emulsions, de-aerated products, no shaft wobble.
A Bottom Entry Mixing Vessel is a specialised process tank where the agitation system is mounted at the base rather than the top. This configuration is favoured where space is limited or where the product requires high-shear homogenisation and emulsification without the interference of a long, top-mounted shaft. The short bottom-entry shaft is inherently more stable — less prone to vibration and wobble — leading to longer seal life and more consistent mixing performance.
Usually equipped with a stator-rotor homogenizer assembly, these vessels provide intense mechanical and hydraulic shear right at the point of discharge or recirculation. The bottom-up flow pattern minimises air entrainment — critical for products that must remain de-aerated, such as pharmaceutical ointments and injectable preparations.
