About the Basket Filter

The Basket Filter is specifically engineered for the recovery and retention of solid catalysts from process streams — ensuring high-value materials are captured efficiently while protecting the downstream purity of the product. Unlike Nutsche filters optimised for cake formation, the basket filter uses precision-mesh liners or perforated baskets to retain particles while allowing the mother liquor to pass through freely.

Critical for batch reactions involving heterogeneous catalysts, these filters are a staple of pharmaceutical API synthesis where precious metal catalysts such as Palladium or Platinum on carbon must be recovered quantitatively. Hastelloy C-276 construction is available for particularly aggressive chemical environments — as shown in our product range.
